"THE STUFF THAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF" Over two years ago, I began a Quest to create what fans have wanted for decades , an accurate Maltese Falcon statue of the highest quality. As is the case with all my projects, The object is something I want for myself and have a great interest in. Every detail I could find is there and the proportions and rations are correct, off detailed four sided photos of the original resin cast bird with measurements, transferred with calipers onto the clay, which are needed as the bird is all over the place design wise, lopsided and nothing the same, which makes it so interesting , but so hard to recreate. Over the course of two years I would think I was finished , only to stumble across a new high resolution photo that I could zoom in and find more details. The biggest example is tiny feather designs in the base, that I never knew existed, so of course, I had to go back and add those.... The months past by, where I researched all the details and sorted through all the folklore and downright false claims on a treasure hunt to discover the real Black Bird. I spent more months, studying every crease and marking and breaks in the lines on the wing feathers, until i was satisfied, the result is a truly realistic representation of the worlds greatest movie prop!5. This replica casting was made out of a mold cast from a original prop. It is made out of a very durable Poly Resin material, has a painted Gold Finish applied and weighs almost 3 Pounds. It stands approximately 12 inches (30.48 centimeters) tall and is about 6 inches (15.24 centimeters) wide by 6 inches (15.24 centimeters) deep. Our original Prop that the mold was made from was obtained directly from Elstree Studios where all the props were made. The Idol Stand does not come with item it is available with Idol in another selection. It was designed with Aztec/ Mayan type artwork applied. It also looks very similar to the original stand that the idol was sitting on when Indy switched with his bag of sand.. The original props (there were 14 as I was told), were inspired by Inca and PreColumbian Art. The female figure was designed with a horrific countenance to heighten the suspense as Indy approaches the golden relic.
