Ghee is prepared by melting and simmering butter until all the water evaporates and the milk solids settle at the bottom. The remaining butter oil is very stable, giving it a high smoke point which makes it an excellent choice to use for frying and sauting and it can be stored without refrigeration for up to a year. While traditional brown butter includes milk solids, we've chosen to exclude them in order to provide the same great flavor in a product suited for paleo and other lactose and casein restricted diets.

Our organic, cultured butter is sourced from grass-fed cows raised on small farms in the Northern California coastal region. It's made in small batches by hand over an open flame. This results in a creamy, nutty brown butter. The milk solids are carefully filtered out, and our slow cooling process provides a enjoyable texture.

Note: Separation is natural. This is a shelf stable product and does not require refrigeration. Use a clean, dry spoon to avoid water contamination. You may see some slight brown colored spots, this is normal and a result of the browning process.
